A joyous spectre-cal that welcomes newbies and takes surprising turns yet still offers a hug to fans. Let’s hope a sequel makes itself known. Go to Full Review

We are in the realms of a Jumanji-style body-swap comedy, although in many scenes the actors who play the ghosts portray the characters they possess... Some have found that confusing but it worked for me and has obvious comedy value. Go to Full Review

Cassian J @RT14516599 3 hrs ago Beautiful, quintessential British family. I saw this in a surprisingly but pleasingly almost full afternoon mid week screening. It’s not often you see a full spectrum of ages watching and very clearly enjoying a film these days. This managed to keep the sitcom formula whilst stretching it to movie length which is a feat many British sit-come fail at. Cinematically you get shots showing the vastness of Button House, and its grounds that the TV show was not capable of. The plot without spoilers managed to retain the beautiful comforting feel of the show, whilst introducing new elements to give the cast something original to work with. A very enjoyable film that can fill many a wet back holiday afternoon for years to come. See more Melonie D @RT22342561 16 hrs ago What a perfect film. As a fan of the show I was hopeful that great writing would make this a successful transition from tv to film and I was so pleased that the writers/cast pulled it off. Consistently funny, engaging and warm throughout. A real gem of British cinema. See more Jean T @JeanT 17 hrs ago I loved this movie. Funny and heartwarming. I came out of the cinema feeling very happy. It’s one I will watch over. See more Lee S @RT67069548 19 hrs ago What a film. Funny, moving and does the series total justice without spoiling the previous ending. Would go see again in a heartbeat See more GetMiked T @RT48047299 21 hrs ago This film is GREAT fun and if you're a Ghosts fan, a must-see. We also saw the film with someone who hadn't seen the series and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The major things I loved about the series are absolutely present in the big screen outing - the writing is on point, showing perfect continuity with all the characters, there's lots of silliness, and they call out the ridiculous aspects of the premise. This film centres on the Ghosts themselves and they all have standout moments. Alison and Mike are side characters and I'm perfectly happy with that. There's hints of a storyline going on with them which would be a big part of the series, but it's very background and I quite like that. I also really appreciated there are some huge moments completely left out of the trailer. Go see this film! See more Read all reviews
