Movie Info

The true story of the murder of prominent architect Stanford White is the inspiration for this highly fictionalized drama, set in Manhattan just after the turn of the century. The film speculates on the motivation of White's murderer, placing the blame on jealousy over a woman.

It never caught my interest despite the juicy sensationalist story it promised to tell.

Ozus' World Movie Reviews

Little more than a competently acted and shot costume drama, it is neither a film of the ages or for the ages; it is a film that has, however, aged, and poorly.

Audience Reviews for The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing

½

They had me at the Red Velvet Swing in the Penthouse Conservatory!!!! I STILL love to swing!!!! This is a beautiful Unrequited Love Story that goes horribly wrong when she marries a mentally unstable, jealous man just to get over the one she really loves & cannot morally have in 1906.What we do to escape love!!!! Her jealous & cruel hubby eventually kills the man she really loves.Joan Collins gives Liz Taylor a run for her Beauty in this Movie is one of my Favorites because it has one of the best endings I have ever loved, I am having a very tough time not spoiling it for you.
