This is an intense, harrowing, and gripping account of the violence surrounding a real bank robbery and taking of hostages. Go to Full Review

It’s hard to endorse Gladbeck: The Hostage Crisis because it’s so hard to watch; it exists smack in the gray area between good journalism and true crime ickiness. Go to Full Review

Tristan C @RT75770054 11/02/2023 Seems that most people leaving negative reviews here simply didn't like what they were being shown. There is nothing wrong at all with this documentary, it's interested all the way through and shows what can happen if these situations aren't controlled as they should be. See more Mt S @RT28699537 08/20/2022 great movie about extremely sad events. there's no commentary at all, used only raw original footages from german TV. See more david f @dfulmer 07/03/2022 A pretty good film about a bank robbery-turned-hostage crisis in Germany in the 1980s. At the time, the police were kind of weirdly hands off, allowing journalists to get close enough to interview both the hostage takers and the hostages, which means that the filmmakers are able to put you right in the heart of things all throughout the film. See more 06/16/2022 I've witnessed these events as a teenager and watched every documentary and screen adaptation about it but this new documentary, most and for all due to its dispension with off-commentary while just relying on the original footage, is outstanding. still unbelievable something like this could happen. See more 06/13/2022 Essentially, a poorly translated video with no comments. Wikipedia had more substance in its 4 minute blurb. Waste of time to watch. See more Read all reviews
