Not just an affectionate portrait of a gifted athlete-turned-groundbreaking sportscaster, the film is also a fond remembrance of life in New York City from the 1930s through the '70s.

Marty Glickman was simply being the best Marty Glickman he could be. For many he wasn't just the best Marty Glickman he was simply: the best.

Audience Reviews for Glickman

Very well-done documentary about one of the true unsung pioneers of modern sports broadcasting. Marty Glickman very quietly paved the road for most of the current sports broadcasting legends that you see on the networks now, and just about all of them are more than happy to do interviews in this to help contribute to his memory.

Saw this on HBO. Great Documentary. I had never known about the 1936 Olympic controversy. Who knows what would have happened had we let them run? We could have added further humiliation to Hitler.
