A mostly harmless and occasionally offensive affair that purports a "fictional account" of a true story.

There must be a better way to salute Kelly's real-life pluck and stature, but if this melt-in-your-mouth lollipop is all we can have, then we'll have it.

A forgettable movie made with "the best intentions". [Full review in Spanish]

Bad casting aside, it's a great production and at least is entertaining. [Full review in Spanish]

Oddly, the biggest problem with the movie is that her star, Nicole Kidman, is not a convincing Grace Kelly. [Full review in Spanish]

The movie falls short of what could've been. [Full review in Spanish]

It's all beautifully shot, competently (if snoozily) acted, gorgeously lit and costumed, and dull, dull, dull.

Despite all the money spent on it, it still looks cheap.

Kidman seemed a natural choice to play Kelly. She manages to soar in several scenes. Hampered by the subpar material, she seems utterly lost, unable to master what could have been the role of her career.

Trivial and simplistic, it's a dull, dreary mishmash...

The lovely costumes and locations give a sense of the luxury of Kelly's life, but nothing in the movie manages to get below that glittering surface.

Indulges in melodrama, diluting its emotional impact and understanding of its subject to play like the average Lifetime Movie, only with exceptional technical credits.

A potentially sweeping romantic drama about a Hollywood actress giving up her career for true love's kiss feels more like a fly-on-the-wall documentary about EU attempts to inflict a mansion tax on the wealthy.

The picture anesthetises you into boredom with its inflated sense of purpose, missing an opportunity, whether as a biopic or an artistic drama, to both honour Kelly's memory and entertain modern audiences.

Not so much a turkey as a dodo, Grace of Monaco never takes flight and extinction is probably the best course for it.

Kidman's infamous Chanel No. 5 advert had better clarity of purpose than this.

While the tone is all wrong, this fantastical version of a momentous year in the life of Grace Kelly is still entertaining, and not just unintentionally.

This cack-handed snapshot of "Grace Kelly's greatest role" is destined to become another epithet-coining catastrophe, the benchmark by which badder-than-bad biopics will be judged in years to come.

"A fictional account inspired by real events", or fiction for short, filmed like a feature length perfume commercial.
