Even for Deadheads who have watched the movie more times than was probably healthy, the new high-definition video digital transfer will still yield revelations.

It's the kind of film no respectable Deadhead would be without.

Audience Reviews for Grateful Dead Movie

[img][/img] Nicely done film about a Grateful Dead concert in 1974. Interesting social documentary interspersed with concert footage and animation/pschodelic color. I kept going back in my mind to back then and asking myself, what happened? One thing I did come up with is those beautiful times derived partly from our youth being so repressed and oppressed. But after the Vietnam War ended, it is my belief the movement fizzled out because of those two strong societal forces that were already so engrained in the American psychic (and worse today). There just wasn't any fight left. Anyway, the Dead were great and this concert is definitely worth viewing. Jerry Garcia was so fucking good.
