The American Classic starring a new to the screen Natalie Wood who held her own quite well.

For a Farm Family Drama (so called B Film by many critics) this film was really good & surprisingly interesting.

Walter Brennan (The greatest character actor) was great as the stubborn old school farmer.

Unfortunately the version of tge film we had was very faded & washed out but the film is interesting & keeps you involved.

Yes, of course there's Wood and she adorable, praise her. Okay, that's out of the way. This was the only Walter Brennan charactor that I didn't like (so far), his preformance was great though.

A nice enuf old film that features a 7 yr old Natalie Wood who steals the show here in this story of a family starting over at a new farm. Walter Brennon plays a crusty mannered widower father of 4 with old fashioned ideas, as his children try to modernize their farm and their way of life.

Something made for the bottom of a double bill this B movie is mostly of interest for the appearance of Natalie Wood who at seven still stands out as the most charismatic of the players. This is the film where her life long fear of water was born when she was swept away during a stunt that went awry. Walter Brennan is also good as a faux democratic father who sees the error of his ways almost too late until the 4H club comes in and saves the day!

Cheesy, though well-acted.
