Movie Info

Fairuza Balk and Greg Bryk star in director Melanie Orr's dark thriller about a grieving couple and a malevolent old house. Their young son Daniel still in a deep coma following a tragic car accident, Hannah (Balk) and her husband Graham (Bryk) move into a newly purchased farmhouse and attempt to move on with their lives. But Hannah can't get over the fact that she was driving on that fateful day, and her increased intake of anti-depressants is causing Graham to worry about her mental well being. When strange things start happening around the farmhouse, Hannah begins to suspect that someone is trying to communicate with her on another level of consciousness. Concerned, Graham turns to outwardly friendly neighbors Ted and Linda for advice on how to deal with his increasingly unstable wife. But Ted and Linda aren't exactly the caring couple they make themselves out to be, because their eager offers of assistance mask some deeply malevolent motives.

An outstanding film, a excellent ghost story, A women whose son is in a coma moves to the country to try and get away from it all only to find she has moved into a home of a young boy ghost who was abused. The people next door play a big part in thie chilling tale. I give it 5 stars

This is a movie that had a lot going for it, but the end product is pretty awful. The acting was good, the story was good, the cinematography was excellent. Yet it wasn't scary, it wasn't suspenseful, it was literally nothing. One problem is during the "making of" Director Orr said one of her main things was the composition of the shot. That doesn't make a entertaining movie, it makes a pretty one. This is a snooze fest. The only reason I sat through the entire flick was Fairuza Balk. I've been a fan since The Craft. Oh, how she has fallen. Rent this if you can't sleep. It's like a quick acting sedative.

Its pretty bad when we are presented with a horror show and we've seen it all before. Shades of the series Ghost Whisperer. Hannah sees ghosts. Her husband thinks she's crazy. But in the end, he sees her point ('cause it hits him over the head), and all is fine.
