Intense, intelligent and fast paced.

But, haa, I just wonder if real-life surveillance unit personnel have such an exciting life...

A really engaging movie. Kate Tsui is a new comer to the surveillance unit lead by Simon Yam. The beginning see her in training but elsewhere not far Tony Leung and his fellow gang are in a robbery case. Soon the team starts investigating through CCTVs and tap onto Lam Suet. Kate in one scene on the 2nd day purposely drop her coins on the 8th floor where Lam stay, to check which unit he staying. They manage to find out all the gang members but still need to find the mastermind. On their suppose crime day, Tony overlook from the tall building and finds it fishy and calls off the robbery. Another team was to chase after the gang while Simon and Kate try to find the invisible man Tony. The rest were in a shootout with the cops and some escaped. Here, Simon and Kate follow and tried to locate Tony on foot. When a patrol officer checked on Tony, he stabs him and run. Kate went to help the wounded instead of giving chase. Hence the ops is blow. Then the 2nd case about kidnapping. Kate was in a position and he spotted Tony and goes after him. But luckily she saw the kidnapper and remember he is staying at the block and unit as Lam. When they are inside the cafe, Tony remember her and approached her. Simon went in much later and is relieve. But he went out and was stab by Tony at the neck. Kate attend to him but he ask her to tap Tony. Eventually she spotted him and knows where he hide. Simon didn't die luckily. The action team barge into the hideout and caught everyone but Tony was slit on the neck by a hook while on the run and he died. The movie is kept short and evenly pace and some brilliance.

Is there really such a team in HK? Not a bad show just that the ending a bit illogical.

Vraiment chouette.

Regular Jhonny To writer directorial debut is exactly what you would expect from the guy that wrote Election, The Mission among other To titles. A tight cop/crime thriller that never lacks rythim and that keeps you interested from start to finish. The man certainly has learned some tricks from To himself, the camera moves in a very similar way, so it will be innevitable to compare a bit.

The guy is still not another To mind you, but shows a lot of promise, and thankfully will help to continue to polish the HK crime genre. Also, you really can't go wrong with the cast, and even the cute eye candy Kate Tsui does a quite decent job, way better than other juvenile inflated HK that work these days.

So, any HK aficionado is more than welcome to watch this one.

one star off for Simon Yam surviving :p

It's pretty bad, but it's great in the 'cram as many clichés as you can in a single movie'. Just as brainless and stupid and contains the usual massive plot holes as any other HK cop flick.

Action packed good entertainment.

Plot is pretty realistic (comparing with other cops films made in HK) & well written. To once again proved his irreplacable status in the industry!

The dynamics of a HK surveillance team.

Kate Tsui looks totally different from those acts in TVB, which shows the importance of a director.

simple and good, it didn't have a lot of action scene, but that's what make it good!

One of the few hong kong cop ation/thrillers that are masterfully made, well-performed and considerably well scripted that delves into the one of the least highlighted sections of the police department: the survellience and intelligence department. Attention to detail is greatly observed and effectively executed.

Great first film for director -- artistic use of scenes without dialogue and great editing. Superb script and acting.

Huh. Very, very low key and unassuming, but thoroughly effective and absorbing.
