Audience Reviews for Habana Blues

wonderful movie with proper conflicts (which are never about good vs evil and always about choosing among competing goods) and some kick-ass music. the characters are sufficiently flawed to be real without being total assholes. two cuban rock musicians struggle to perform and then to get a contract with a spanish team scouting for new bands. one of the two is married with young children but is being divorced by his wife, whose indomitable spirit, how she handles things, how she stays focused, and how she maintins her emotional honesty dominate the human side of the movie. on the music side, the two men conflict and reconcile. ultimately everyone moves on but their experiences are intense while we watch. fine piece of independent, obscure film making.

I just saw this movie at a film festival. It was perfecto. And the soundtrack was kickass, I wish it was available in America.
