Audience Reviews for Hal Sparks: Charmageddon

This is a very strong stand-up set. Insightful, provocative, intelligent, and most importantly--funny. You can clearly see who some of his influences are: Hicks, Carlin, Black, Murphy...so much so that some of it seems lifted--not verbatim, but he may be 'trying on the clothing' of some of the comedy elites. Very much to my liking, Hal pointed out how the genders are not inextricably different...aka not all men are the same. He then goes on to a big closing chunk about how good he is in bed. It detracts from his earlier points, and pulls away from the progressive message that he worked the entire special to construct. All in all, I was delightfully surprised at the character and command Hal Sparks demonstrated in the special. Unless you're a high brow comedy snob or philistine who only laughs at d*ck jokes, you'll love this special.

Very Funny, who knew the Mild Mannered Michael from the Showtime Series Queer as Folk could be so Hysterical? Love this guy
