The elegantly composed shots of the island's broodingly lonesome wide spaces offer clues as to the group's widescreen post-rock sound. Indeed, their music comes to seem site-specific, as environmentally immersed as the landscape art of Richard Long.

Iceland's extraordinary natural beauty is as much a star of the movie as Sigur Rˇs's magisterial music and the all-local crew could hardly have done a more impressive promotional job had 'Heima' been commissioned by the Icelandic Tourist Board itself.
