See more Mike P 03/14/2024 Effective and disturbing documentary about a "Scared Straight" type camp for delinquent kids...that wound up getting WAY out of hand. Many famous kids went there...Including Paris Hilton...This is definitely a referendum on the old "Spare the rod spoil the child" mindset which has caused so much trouble and destruction over the years. Overall: Thumbs up 👍 Effective message about the evils of corporal punishment: particularly with the young... P.S. I couldn't help thinking this would make an excellent set up for a slasher movie though. This movie proves there is nothing new under the sun. Where people are put in charge of small children without proper consequences for bad behavior, hell on Earth will obtain. See more Dave S 02/02/2024 Sure, Hell Camp: Teen Nightmare is a documentary that brings some important subjects to light, but there is no getting around the fact that, in the end, it is boring. You'd think that anything that deals with teen delinquency, substance abuse, behavioral rehab camps, parent/child interpersonal relations, and psychological, physical, and sexual abuse would be able sustain audience interest for a scant ninety minutes, but Hell Camp somehow misses the mark. Maybe it's because it fails to examine the root issues of the bad behavior, one of which could be bad parenting. Or maybe it's because it fails to examine the fact that the camps would appear to be a uniquely American issue. While the documentary does have some merit, what it lacks is a spark.
