It's not that Hell Fest is bad. It's just that it makes you feel like 'they could have done more, much more'. [Full review in Spanish].

At its best, Hell Fest makes inspired use of its amusement-park setting, but it ultimately counts for naught when the plotting is this threadbare and the characters this insipid.

[Hell Fest] promises a frightful time if you are not very demanding of the genre. [Full review in Spanish]

Hell Fest is a horror movie that contributes very little in terms of narrative, scares or imagination. [Full Review in Spanish]

It is a shame when a movie like this is let down by the very reason for its existence. A slasher movie is only as strong as its slasher and the fear that slasher creates.

For this coward, however, I found myself surprisingly enjoying HELL FEST. I enjoyed the characters and their interactions. The use of a haunted house attraction as the setting was pretty smart and led to a good mix of tension and earned fear releases.

It wasn't anything new, it was old riffs done in a way that was actually quite efficient.... The nastiest is the right level of nasty, the silliness is the right level of silly.

Plotkin's relentless button-pushing, coupled to the script's cringe-inducing yooftalk, instead mark Hell Fest as unmistakably the work of middle-aged execs trying to jab suggestible teenagers back into cinemas.

This box of tricks doesn't have neither the ingenuity of homage to the classics nor the critical ambition to reinvent the genre. [Full Review in Spanish]

As generic slashers go, Hell Fest pushes all the right buttons and delivers its fair share of nasty moments, though it's not without its flaws.

Plotkin and his writers make a vague attempt to acknowledge the tired formula, then just fall back on it themselves.

Here we have an ingenious concept told with no ingenuity, depriving viewers of even the baseline pleasures of the hack'n'slash genre.

Hell Fest is such an unambitious piece of work there's very little to go wrong, and the result is a vaguely passable horror, even if it needs to be far more frightening.

Fundamentally nothing but a walking tour through nice sets in the company of awful people, and I'm sorry, but the sets aren't that nice.

A simple premise bursting with promise - sadly, not executed all that well.

The coolest things about it are Tony Todd and the environment itself.

If you like Halloween, amusement park spook houses, and haunted hayrides, Hell Fest is the movie for you.
