Movie Info

Mike Mignola and Guillermo Del Toro team up once again to bring everyone's favorite wise-cracking, crime fighting demon to the screen in an animated adventure that finds Hellboy, Liz Sherman, and Abe Sapien pitted against a powerful horde of supernatural baddies. When a sprawling mansion becomes overrun with ghosts and werewolves, Hellboy is forced to put in some serious overtime to ensure that the situation doesn't get out of hand. Add into the mix a villainous vampires and a malevolent goddess, and you've got a recipe for Hellboy's most thrilling assignment to date. Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Doug Jones, and John Hurt all return to voice the same characters they portrayed in Del Toro's rousing live action film.

Far superior to its stablemate, Sword of Storms, this animated film has some genuinely creepy moments and makes you care about the characters a lot more. The end is the only real let-down as it suffers greatly from the "let's do bigger is better just because we can" syndrome.

Closer to the comic than the movies but it feels more like a bad episode of the Real Ghostbusters.

this was very good how it went back and it actually glues it to the new movie it was great and I loved they give Abe a more heroic move onto his character right into cation and taking hands on fight!! and liz showed what she is capable off!!! and of course hellboy did his best!!! Plot: In 1939, young Professor Bruttenholm destroyed Erzsebet Ondrushko, a female vampire who bathed in the blood of innocents to stay young. Now someone in upstate New York is trying to bring her back, and...( read more ) the elderly Professor Broom has decided to investigate it himself. He takes the top BPRD agents, Hellboy, Liz Sherman and Abe Sapien, who are more worried about his welfare than the return of any vampire. Their tune changes when they face a horde of ghosts, a phantom wolf pack, witches, harpies, a giant werewolf and Erzsebet herself. Hellboy ends up battling the Queen of Witches, the goddess Hecate, who wants him to embrace his true destiny, a destiny that includes the destruction of mankind.

Until Del Toro stops messing about in Middle Earth and gets back to finishing his trilogy, these animated movies are the closest anyone will get to another Hellboy film.. The cast remains - which helps, and there's certainly no skimping on the blood, ghosts and other things that go bump in the night. It may be a cartoon, but it's not for children. The makers have stayed true to Mignola's original artwork too. Sadly, the plot is dull, and is aimed at children. But if you can see past that this is an alright mini-spin-off-adventure-thing.
