You can tell this wasn't written as a Hellraiser movie but as a generic horror movie with the Hellraiser name just thrown on so they're can keep the rights for a bit longer.

Far removed from the fantastical and supernatural original. Features Henry Cavill in an early role.

-Definitely better than the last 3 movies. For a direct to DVD horror movie, it's actually watchable. It's the best one after part 2.

-They shoehorned Pinhead and the box again. They don't even need to be in this movie.

re review what the **** is henry cavill doing in this abomination that has NOTHING to do with any of the previous movies? this movie isn't in the main series it's actually self aware like scream only bad. apparently the hellraiser movies are real and they have a video game company that makes hellraiser games. do i have to say more? what's wrong with the good old lament configuration box being used to summon pinhead instead of computers? Pinhead is an agent of hell who is obsessed with torture, so either they have computers in hell and this movie is so incompetent it doesn't realize how idiotic the idea is, or i can email pinhead asking him to kill a guy who i don't like. also the kills lack the hellraiser vibe. meaning the victims aren't tortured but instead they are given quick deaths like being decapitated. so pinhead hates the idea of torture now even though that's the point of the character and hellraiser alike. i literally think internet trolls sent this idea as a joke to holywood and some idiot liked it.

Again better than the last two movies but still really bad.

This may very well be the series' rock bottom. Or at least, it was until the 2011 pseudo-sequel that was filmed in two weeks, but let's just pretend that didn't happen.

Hellworld is better than the last few Hellraiser attempts, but it still falls short of being a decent horror film. Hellraiser is done for! Stick a fork in it! Unless Clive Barker comes back there is no hope!

The eighth instalment of the franchise is a terribly made horror (like most), that horror fans will probably most likely enjoy.
Hellworld see's gamers invited to a party run by a mysterious host, while their however the host and the Cenobites, murder their way through the guests in a good old hack n' slash fashion.
Hellworld is exactly a horror, not a very good one, but enjoyable none the less with its gory scenes. Sadly however this shows how much the series has degraded from it's magnificent beginnings. The script was adapted from a treatment titled "Dark Can't Breathe," which was unrelated to the Hellraiser series.
A Run Of The Mill Horror Flick, Which Sadly Turns Into More Of A Slasher Flick, Than What's Come Before.

Not a good movie. But the last 20 minutes is pretty good for a straight to DVD horror film. Better than the 7th Hellraiser film, but that's about it.

Movie number eight

Great plot and this time different again college students think the puzzle box and all the hell stories which go with the history is all a joke and is only a online game to play
They all find out the truth at a Hellraiser party which will take there souls and they will have to fight to save them selfs

I Enjoyed this it was more like a nightmare on elm street type of movie worthwhile watching

Just 2 to go. I didn't like this one at a. Oh! The concept seemed so promising but then it all fell to pieces. These horror films that take place in mansions are generally garbage sans the House on Haunted remake and its sequel. This was supposed to be based on some made up storyline about the series spawning an MMO, first and foremost when the movie shows the game it looks like crap and not an MMO but some quick Shockwave game. It's apparently beatable because you get some pass to an exclusive party.

The house party goes to hell and has really nothing to do with the video game. They had a real chance here to cash on the then brand-new MMORPG genre, as WoW set the pace this very year. They took the idea and dropped the ball. This film is the first to feature a group of teens, which was something the series strayed away from to set themselves apart from other slasher series.

Now the following comment may make no sense at all, the plot is confusing. Really confusing. Right at the end when the typical horror film baddie explains everything going on throughout the whole film, it still makes no sense at all. The film goes on for another 10 minutes after all that where even more questions can be formed.

Hell world was an interesting direction for the series to go in. It was very modern with a club atmosphere, teenagers, drugs, sex and a little bit of computer gaming. The concept did not make a whole lot of sense in the end but it did have some intriguing moment throughout. Once again Pinhead was only featured a few times for very short periods and the part that baffled me was that no one even opened the box that makes him appear, until the very last scene. Nothing really fit into the typical Hellraiser formula so if your a fan of the series that might confuse you a little. This was not the worst entry in the series, nor the best, but it was something new and not a bad horror flick at all.

Stupid entry in the franchise with a idiotic plot & forgettable performances, with only some horror veterans delivering any fun. The cast is one-note, at best (thankfully Winnick & Cavill would go on to do better work) with the only high-notes being Doug Bradley's return to Pinhead & Lance Henrickson, who is always good for some scenery chewing. The plot makes no sense, from the fact this is a world where "Hellraiser" is fake but Merchante, the makers of the puzzle box is real, along with the plan by the main villain, which is so elaborate it can't be explained. Thankfully, some of the kills are kind of fun, but this is just a bad, dumb movie.

Once again, another underrated Hellraiser sequel that was great. It was Bradley Douglass's final time playing Pinhead and he did a great job. I loved the premise of the movie and the kills were great. Like all of the Hellraiser films, it's a unique experience that's quite entertaining and never boring. It's a good one.
