Audience Reviews for Her Twelve Men (Miss Baker's Dozen)
One of Greer's last theatrical films may not be a classic but well made with Greer her usual pillar of strength. She and Robert Ryan make an odd match but have a decent oil and vinegar chemistry.
I Love Greer Garson's Velvet Voice, so Proper, yet comforting. No one had a voice like Greer. In this Film see is a recent Widow who decides to become the only female school teacher at a Prestigious Boarding School for Boys. The Feminine Touch is just what these Boys & this School needed, as mostly these boys are an inconvenience to their wealthy parents, who just ship them away to be looked after by others under the guise of higher learning.Even the difficult ones, need to be Mothered a little. She bonds with a Male Teacher (Robert Ryan)who she once resented. A Very Lovely Story.
Her Twelve Men (1954) -- [5.5] -- Greer Garson plays the first female teacher at a private boys' school. The story is predictable: at first the kids and faculty hate her, and then they start to love her and can't live without her. It'd be a completely dismissable movie if not for the charm of its leading lady.
