Frank Capra's comedy with music (the Oscar-winning "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening") is a pleasant diversion.

The first twenty minutes are interminably slow, with all momentum stalled by two seemingly never-ending musical numbers. Once that's out of the way, things settle down into a decent lighthearted comedy, with a fine performance from Crosby and the usual Capra addition of a little social commentary. Cut out all the song and dance stuff, which mostly feels tacked on, and you've got yourself something a little more like the old Capra.

I liked the beginning (sweet) and some other parts, but things got way too mixed up (scheming, immodesty, lying).

Oh man, it's difficult to overlook the triumph of the patriarchy in this one - as much as I love Bing Crosby! And overall, just not a very compelling story.

Sprightly semi musical with the four leads all giving energetic performances. All four stars play well off each other, not just as male and female couples but in all there varied interactions. The supporting cast led by Connie Gilchrist and Robert Keith is perfect down to the smallest roles and Capra keeps it all moving at a lively clip.

Under rated Frank Capra comedy with great Crosby performance and who is re-teamed with Jane Wyman playing a foreign correspondent who comes to the aid of two orphans. Servicable score - though

I watched this on a recommendation a bit hesitantly, but thought it was great. There were some really funny moments, definitely worth the watch.

Weakest Frank Capra film I have seen so far. The few musical numbers just seem way out of place and some of the acting is pretty bad. Crosby is charming and excellant and shines.

Very fun romatic comedy musical. Great cast, and a wonderful supporting creew, especially Alexis Smith, giving one of her most memorable performances. Great music especiallt the Oscar winning "In the Cool Cool Cool of the Evening."
