Audience Reviews for He's a Bully, Charlie Brown
I love this.
Good stuff. The Peanuts world introduces a new character, bully Joe Agate, who promises to teach young Rerun how to play marbles at the summer camp the crew is attending. He ends up hustling all of the marbles and Charlie Brown is informed, who vows to win them back with some training by Joe Cool (aka Snoopy). The side story involves Peppermint Patty having to attend summer school instead of camp like the rest of the kids, and becoming jealous of Marcie/Charlie Brown. For this 2006 special, the voice acting was top-notch and closely resembled the original cast. The animation is a bit more polished and improved, but the background drawings still have the rough-around-the-edges charm that make this series so endearing. Music is tremendous like in every Peanuts special, with a strong selection of jazz cuts. Dialogue and story is, as usual, easy-to-digest and quite simple. This may be the last of the Peanuts specials since Bill Melendez died in September 2008. If it is, it's a fitting sendoff to the gang and not to give away the ending, but it leaves all parties with a good feeling.
