Movie Info

Macaulay Culkin lookalike (and soundalike) Mike Weinberg steps into the role of resourceful youngster Kevin McAllister in this made-for-TV sequel to the immensely popular theatrical Home Alone trilogy. On this occasion, young Kevin finds himself stranded in the computerized "safe house" owned by Natalie (Joanna Going), the predatory new girlfriend of Kevin's recently divorced dad Peter (Jason Beghe). Combining the technology of the house with his own improvisational brilliance, Kevin endeavors to save a royal heir from a trio of kidnappers, one of whom is the boy's old burglar nemesis Marv Merchants (French Stewart, replacing the first two films' Daniel Stern). Needless to say, Kevin also finds time to befriend an adult "outcast" and to bring his parents back together. Home Alone 4 originally aired November 3, 2002, as an episode of the ABC anthology The Wonderful World of Disney.

  • Recycled gags with none of the original's charm.

  • From the unappealing cheapish opening titles to the murky production values, it's immediately obvious "Home Alone 4" isn't playing in the same park as its beloved predecessor...sad

By far the worst in the series, the acting was disgusting, yes, disgusting. The storyline was again recycled. There were barely any traps this time and the plot revolves around a far-fetched Christmas miracle/heist. Thank God they stopped making anymore of these craps.

Daniel Stern sums his opinion up for me. "An insult, total garbage." This movie was so bad, it made the third one good, even though I found that one stupid as well. This is why it is best to think twice when it comes to movies like this being made for TV.

Tired humour and no new gags worth remembering. The charm of the first two and the dark enthusiasm of the third are no where to be found and unlike the first three the lead protaganist is a terrible actor.

I did not hate it as much as the critics did, but I do like it better than the second Home Alone! I understand that it was direct to DVD, that's why I didn't hate on it. But the one big thing that is wrong with it, is that he is NOT HOME ALONE? What is that?
