21-year-old BILLY BURNETT is aimless and unmotivated, but he does have a dream: to become a pro jet skier. After a jet ski stunt goes bad and Billy destroys his dad's prized '69 Camaro, dad is furious but fate intervenes in the form of Camel Towing's tow truck operator, DANNY "DOG" BASSETT. Dog concocts a plan to solve everything -- "Send Billy on the Pro Jet Ski Tour!" "You'll look like the supportive Dad, be rid of Billy for the summer, and save your marriage all in one shot." Dad agrees and Dog convinces his longtime friend, legendary five-time world champion, JARED HARPER, to join the team as Billy's coach. The team soon embarks on the ultimate summer road trip, but it doesn't take long for Billy's reckless attitude to wear thin with Jared. To add to the conflicts, Billy also falls for the women's world champion, KELLY WEBER. Kelly is also a forbidden love, the ex-girlfriend of men's world champion, RICHARD HURT, a ruthless rider that will do anything to win. The laughs and the conflicts escalate, but Billy eventually begins to come of age, showing his championship abilities. However, Richard won't go down without a fight and retaliates by destroying Billy's equipment and his dreams. The forlorn team returns home and all seems lost. Then Jared has a heart-to-heart talk with Billy's dad who agrees to an unselfish move that sends the team back for the highly anticipated championship event, where a knock-down, drag-out, winner-takes-all battle unfolds. It's an edge-of-your-seat finale, filled with surprises!
