Movie Info

A man with more money than principles learns the hard way about the value of compassion and caring in this drama. Born to a wealthy and powerful family, Kreso (Kresimir Mikic) is a callous and irresponsible young man who enjoys his life of privilege without much thought of how his actions effect others. One night, Kreso is involved in a serious auto accident which costs a woman her life; while Kreso's lawyers are able to keep him out of jail, he can't avoid a brief stay in the hospital, where he is accidentally given a transfusion of tainted blood. Before long, Kreso falls ill, and discovers he's HIV-positive. Emotionally shattered, Kreso has no idea what to do, and most of his close friends and confidantes either think Kreso is playing some sort of practical joke or are too frightened by his illness to offer him the support he needs. As Kreso's physical and emotional conditions worsens, he discovers true friendship from an unexpected source -- a bartender (Ivana Roscic) who once counted him as a regular customer offers him the shoulder to cry on that he so desperately needs. Originally produced for Croatian television, Volim Te (aka I Love You enjoyed some theatrical engagements on the film festival circuit and in the United States.
