Although cheap and juvenile, I Was A Teenage Zombie is amusing enough for those who enjoy the goofy films that turn up at midnight shows.

Audience Reviews for I Was a Teenage Zombie

technically substandard in almost every aspect, but possesses an undeniable charm and, believe it or not, a degree of actual artistic competence - in the end, I can laugh ironically at the stupid parts and be legitimately entertained in the interim, and as such, it's tough to give it anything but a positive rating

If you go on Hulu.com, you'll find this movie in the Criterion Collection section, which is completely inexplicable. The films of the Criterion Collection are usually artistic and culturally relevant examples of cinema. 'I Was A Teenage Zombie' is a cheaply made piece of horror camp that would be right at home in the Troma cannon. This must be some kind of joke, I suppose.

Great late 1980s fun. I loved this movie from start to finish. It had a Troma feel to it. I love the ending. A great soundtrack. I'd really like to own the DVD of this.
