The courtroom sequences are gripping, but what really captivated me was the central dilemma — trading justice for one daughter to save another. The first big blunder is that the "Ikka" defense lawyer is the first one to present a defense witness (the defendant) at the beginning of the trial, which is just ridiculous. Under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) CrPC, a criminal trial strictly follows the rule of "Prosecution First". Secondly in the middle of direct and cross examination of witnesses both the prosecution and the defense lawyers argue the defendent's guilt and innocence which is strictly not permitted in criminal trials. Akshay Khanna throughout the movie has a plastered bad-guy look on his face which hardly ever changes. Sunny Deol is also not very impressive in this role. Diya Mirza is okay in the short roll that she has. Tilottama Shome has done a decent job and has performed better than other stalwarts in the movie. Couple of twists are good but otherwise the movie is a drab. See more Lavanya J @RT72840249 Jul 14 Posting for a friend: what a terrible movie honestly! sunny deol cannot act period. his expressions throughout the movie were laughable. you just don’t get the feeling that his daughter is dying of cancer. there’s no sense of urgency or stress or fear or sadness or anything really in his actions or voice. then there’s the overtly obvious need for the movie to hype up his character as the "ikka" who never loses, the one who plays his ace card, the slow-mo shots. all of that reeks of desperation to big up a main character who isn’t capable of carrying the movie on his own. compare that to his brother’s comeback role in "Bads"- so effortlessly charismatic and a magnetic screen presence. sunny deol needs to go to acting school. dia mirza and the rest of the cast was running circles around him. and that ending? ~~~~SPOILER ALERT~~~~~ too contrived of a resolution to "play the ace card"! the audience deserves better than this sorry excuse of slop.
