.....to get out of watching this movie!

March 11, 2006

Lengthy stretches of the program are not entertaining and are painfully uncomfortable

December 3, 2004

A delight in that ineffable Jim Brooks way.

Director Brooks is too timid with his cast as if he is afraid to open up and take a few risks.

Audience Reviews for I'll Do Anything

(**): Albert Brooks is good here, but I found this to be rather underwhelming. Fair at best.

I don't usually go for films about Hollywood, unless they're by Preston Sturges. This one worked for me, though, just because it seemed so unlike the real place in that the people who populate it are compassionate, honest, and feeling. I have no firsthand experience with the movie business, nor do I want any. Albert Brooks and Julie Kavner particularly stood out. Uneven at times, but recommended.
