When a set of characters are trapped 47 meters down in a cage surrounded by sharks, the narrative's potential is far from endless. In the hands of a better director, however, that potential could have been fully realised.

The dark, murky water is perfect for obscuring the phony looking animated sharks - as well as the entry level acting.

Although it boasts two pretty Barbie Doll leading ladies, a flavored scenic land and watery locale and those toothy "Jaws" knock-offs swarming around, it still barely remains afloat with all the conviction of a defective, hole-ridden buoy.

That is Roberts' biggest problem because in spite of managing to keep the obviously slight narrative ticking over such that it never gets excruciatingly dull, we never really get to care either - and thus the killer twist at the end is totally wasted.
