Inception succeeds in convincing us for two and a half hours that somehow our dreams and lives are exactly like all the bad action movies we have ever seen. The film has none of the vivid unpredictable banality of dreams or life.

The main tension of the story is a constant vuvuzela-like interruption in the suspension of disbelief.

The film's imaginative freefall is ruinously anchored to a bogus sense of deep feeling.

We can only marvel at what writer-director Nolan has thought up and executed so well. But he doesn't know when to stop. Every level leads to another level.

The only thing for sure is that this Inception was nothing but a stratagem, a cheap trick, if you will. Leading me to wonder: Where are the Dream Police when you need 'em?

An astonishment, an engineering feat, and, finally, a folly.

Only someone who never saw (or appreciated) Dark City would be able to call it visionary.
July 16, 2010
If you recall the scene in Dahmer (2002) where Jeremy Renner as the deranged killer drills holes into his victims' heads, you'll know what watching this Freudian claptrap of a thriller is like.

July 16, 2010
Inception is a nightmare for audiences looking for coherent fiction.

More time wasting than time bending, Inception is a shoot 'em up masquerading as a thinking person's sci-fi film.
