No consensus yet.
Scary, but also a bit sad.
Exposition heavy horror mystery with no horror. Relies far too much on the cliches and scenes recognizable from other horror films be they Asian or not. Only rescued by the genuine love that comes across from one doll to her previous owner.
next to the tale of two sisters, this korean film is one of my favorite asian horror flicks. the story is about a photographer who invites 5 people to pose for her as models for new dolls. thinking that this is such a privilege for them, they succumbed to the invitation and went to a doll museum located deep into the woods. however, during the length of their stay in that place, they soon found out that the photographer has a few secrets of her own.
the movie did creep me out a little, i think i never looked at dolls the same way again ever since i saw this.
Weird, beautiful looking but with some clunky effects. There's also a rather sad backstory between the female protagonist and the 'girl in red'. The ending always threatens to make me cry, because I'm soppy like that.
