While there are many great writing moments, the film's rushed final act leaves many characters with a blunt ending. Nevertheless, Insidious: Out of the Further is a worthy entry in a franchise that balances expectations with nostalgia and horror.

Side note: Insidious: Out of the Further will probably discourage many impressionable souls from a career in dentistry. The good news is, if they can handle this movie and still go into the dental field, they’ll be unstoppable.

It was good, but I would have loved for Specs and Tucker to be part of it. Side characters were generic and personally did not enjoy the main evil spirit.

Definitely had some jump scares and was a new take on the Insidious franchise. It had a lot of body horror which was a different than the deeper psychological side of the previous movies.

I appreciated the creative ways to continue spooking the audience, and unconventional jump scares and more reliance on the elements of being creepy in a more subtle way. But, the plot was too weak for me, the villain was also not convincingly evil enough for me to fear, and the lead actress did not really sell the character as well as prior leads in the Insidious 1 and 2 films did.
