What is remarkable is the way Dauberman's script and Muschietti's direction take a celebrated 1000+page novel that contains multiple points of view, various timelines, and occasional controversial scenes and they turn it into a coherent narrative.

At close to three hours It Chapter Two is absurdly overlong, but on balance, mostly because of the excellent cast, it's a fairly entertaining saga. What the movie isn't, or at least wasn't for me, is seriously scary.
