Audience Reviews for It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman

The camp feels more desperate than funny. There's a lot of humor, but few hard laughs. The songs weren't really memorable, and the characters were fairly weak-Superman included. This TV musical is more painful than enjoyable.

This campy musical about Superman aired only once on TV in the 70s. But the internet is a wondrous place where you can find any odd pop culture artifact seemingly lost in time forever. So I watched this, much like I watched the Star Wars Holiday Special before...and just like that odd special...this is pretty awful. This is decidedly better...but not by much. The music isn't great, and the production values are super lame and weak...but it is interesting if you like odd stuff the way I do.

It's a musical Superman T.V. movie, and boy is it a stinker. People say "Batman and Robin" is the worst superhero movie ever made, they obviously haven't seen this movie. It's based on a Broadway musical that apparently was a hit to remake it as a TV movie with a budget of ten dollars. Seriously, the background mostly consist of white cardboard with drawn but not color images, while Superman's costume looks like something cheap out of the 99 cents store. The fights are badly choreograph that make the Adam West Batman fighting in the same league as The Matrix. Also, the music is horrendous. Worst of all, the plot is just awful. Superman tries to stop a scientist from destroying all the good in the world, while being all emo about losing Lois Lane to someone else. Oh boy...this is the worst thing to happen to Superman and the worst that can happen to a superhero. Just skip it, you'll live a happier and better life if you don't watch it. *NOTE: This is the first review on this movie, both critic and user on this site. Lucky me.*
