  • Sparky playing, a generally sharp script and bright packaging add up to a neat little winner in the romantic comedy Jack & Sarah, a kind of After Nine Months London style.

  • As English as it gets, this romantic comedy about a one-parent family is not without a modest charm.

  • It's a miracle on the level of childbirth that it holds together at all. But it does.

  • "Jack & Sarah" is one of those romantic movies viewers know will end in a happy smooch. What's fine is the rush of amusing, heartrending humanity before it gets to the inevitable.

Completely harmless, likeable and sweet. It's eveything you'd expect from a British rom-com - post Four Weddings.

This affable romantic comedy-drama tends to wander from scene to scene and juggles a few more plot threads than it can handle; still, it never becomes predictable, and the surprising rapport between Richard E. Grant and Samantha Mathis (along with the excellent supporting cast) carries the day.

Richard E. Grant at his smarmiest in a nauseating schmaltz fest that surely could only be of interest to menopausal women. Utterly hateful crap.
