All Critics (7) | Top Critics (3) | Fresh (2) | Rotten (5)

  • Part of the problem of Jacqueline (Argentine) is that it wants to be a film of many layers but Britto doesn't have the know-how to keep each layer legible separately.

  • If you take Jacqueline (Argentine) for what it is, it can be quite a bit of fun. Director Britto is able to deliver a comedic thriller in what appears to be a documentary, which I don't think I've ever seen done successfully before.

  • The movie's own self-doubts about life and art may have arrived for too late for the average viewer, though it's this questioning and dreamy conclusion that actually binds Jacqueline (Argentina) and give it some small satisfactions.
