Audience Reviews for James Dean: Forever Young

Essentially, this documentary only charts the icon's professional career, but it has enough going for it to make it worth a viewing. James Dean was one of the men who permanently altered cinema acting, along with his idol Marlon Brando and Montgomery Clift. As an admirer of his work, I found it interesting to see how he broke into the business. I would have liked to see more of a biography, but it works well for what it is. There is some amazing rare footage in this film, including a screen test for East of Eden with Dean and Paul Newman.

The old footage of Dean and the photographs are absolutely awesome. The biographical information, not so much. Heavily condensed, of course, but also heavily whitewashed.
