Movie Info

Follow the life of the man whose reckless antics at the piano injected rock-and-roll with a much-needed sense of danger before his career was momentarily sidelined by a scandalous love affair in this documentary profile of musical outlaw Jerry Lee Lewis. A man who truly lived as wildly as he played the piano, Lewis would face harrowing personal battles with drugs and alcohol before returning to the music scene as a country and western singer in the 1970s. In addition to insight from such contemporaries as Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Mickey Gilley, and Chuck Berry, this personal profile also offers rare footage of Lewis performing such hits as "Great Balls of Fire" and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin On".
