Had the potential of being Kevin Smith's best film period had it not been sunk by contrivance in the third act.

A romantic comedy seriously marred by a clunky plot and a couple of characters that are hard to sympathize with.

The movie might seem like a generic, feel-good concoction if it weren't for the edgy perfection that Smith achieves with so much of his dialog.

Skip the film but don't miss the awesome "old, haggard twats" commentary track by Kevin Smith and Ben Affleck.
