Wow, an epic Rivette which some of the most stunning decorations which were shot such detail and imagination as to beget the question of how one should frame something so elegant. It feels so different from the epics of Ridley Scott and even the old Hollywood films but wow. I really liked how biographical it was, being lenient on the asceticism and on questions of faith and instead focuses more on the real politik of the factions and the way each character is more of a pawn than anything else, all part of a selfish struggle.
the second part of rivette's epic was much like the first; a comprehendable historically accurate retelling of joan of arc. i actually learned quite a bit from this film so in terms of a history lesson, it was very entertaining. this was also technically a good film and bonnaire was excellent
GRRRR...............!!! EVEN THE SECOND ONE!!!!
