John Lennon: Gimme Some Truth - The Making of Imagine Reviews

Very interesting film about John Lennon and Yoko Ono, this DVD features John making his music together with Phil Spector, George Harrison and Yoko. It shows generally some of his attitude towards making music and life in general, and includes an interview with John and Yoko. The whole of the DVD is approximately 1h 30 min (not 1h 3min like it says above in the info). It was nice to see George Harrison playing guitar with John Lennon. It surprised me a bit how thoughtful Yoko Ono was, I had had a more superficial image of her. Nice film for anyone interested in John Lennon's music and his opinions.

If you a huge Lennon fan or just a casual Beatles fan, you will love this film. A truly in-depth look at the July 1971 recording sessions and the making of the documentary "Imagine". Its a great documentary about an even greater documentary. Watch as Lennon teaches one of his greatest songs, Imagine, to the studio band on an upright piano for the first time. See John play basketball with Miles Davis while mingling with Jack Nicholson and Andy Warhol at a studio executives afternoon barbeque. It is a very unique look at one of the most influential rock artists of the 20th century making one of the greatest albums of the 20th century.
