It's not a particularly sophisticated movie, but it really does have something for everyone - some great action set pieces, plenty of physical comedy, jokes both silly and smart, some charming awkward romance stuff, you name it.
Overall I'd say Jumanji was an enjoyable, fun and entertaining film. Whether it lived up to the previous film is going to be up to the viewer. Personally, I think that both films excelled in different areas.
Plenty of sly nods to video-game rules but the real fun is to be had from the interplay between the cast, with Scotland's Karen Gillan given a chance to show off her comedy chops against the more seasoned Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black.
