Same characters, same heroes, same villain, many of the same songs and the same conclusion, just different voices joking and singing away.

It's a throwback in which cute animals of no depth or nuance play with the hero or threaten him in not very scary ways.

An indicator of how far Disney has fallen, although I can't recall the Magic Kingdom ever releasing a worse animated feature into multiplexes.

There is no pretense of art or imagination in this movie. It barely qualifies as creative marketing. It's just Disney's latest strategy to leverage the affection that generations of viewers have for its animated classics by cranking out palid sequels.

Ok for kids, but not the most inspired sequel.

Practically any one scene from the original film oozes more creativity and humor than the whole of Jungle Book 2.

The raw power and anything-can-happen style of the first "Jungle Book" is lost in this sequel, and those bare necessities are lacking.

Wait for it to come out on video, it'll baby sit a four-year-old. Anybody else is gonna be bored by it.

You should skip the theatrical release and rent it -- don't buy it -- when it arrives on video, where it should have gone in the first place.

More development and nuance in Karl Geurs' script would have made a big difference.

The one thing you can say about this sequel is that it tries too hard to be like its ultra-hip predecessor.

This slickly animated sequel is doubly pointless -- pointless because the story goes nowhere, and pointless because there was no reason (besides crass commercialism) to make it in the first place.

The animation is lovely, but the simplistic story feels as if it were arrived at by committee after an hour-long meeting.

Disney's The Jungle Book 2, contrary to belief, doesn't have all the "Bare Necessities" needed to elevate this simplistic family fare beyond its direct-to-video status...a recycled, third-rate kiddie diversion that Disney haphazardly conjured up

The naked greed of capitalism can be an ugly sight, and with Disney it doesn't come much uglier than The Jungle Book 2.

...nobody thought to provide the new movie with anything fresh in the way of a plot or music.
