What a great historical period movie based on true events in 1930 British India, an uprising in a small town north of Begal.

I've liked all Ashutosh Gowariker's films, and this is no exception. A very thoroughly-researched and well-made film. It was a nice reminder to see how India was once so united to overthrow the British in this historical. Yes, it is disturbing to see that so many young teenagers were recruited for this violent mission, and I don't exactly support that aspect of the Chittagong Uprising. However, it is important to note that this is a true story, so the facts cannot be changed. The film has been presented very tastefully.

Too long winded and not a fan of period dramas.

Good watch if you didn't know about Surja Sen and others.

If you are looking for a patriotic film, here is one for sure. Junior B and Deepika's acting is quite ordinary but the other uncountable actors were mind-blowing. The movie kept itself at a lengthy running time and maybe the story limited the intelligence in the film but all over a good watch and knowledgeable movie

Went quite unnoticed, and it's perfectly understandable having watched the movie.

Another period film from Gowariker .... this time focusing on the revolution.
Pluses: well casted and acted by the entire ensemble. Story and presentation wise as well it is a job well done
Minuses: the movie is too damn long (along 3 hours), the songs are complete hurdle (and blah too).

bad acting, direction, editing, even songs. they tried to get a bangla accent but failed miserably. deepika doesn't look like a bong girl. even the flag used is incorrect.

Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey is an honest and sincere effort by Ashutosh Gowarikar put together with a lot of hardwork

Dum hai bahut dum hai, second half to total dumdaar hain. The movie is superb and everyone who cares for our independence or history should definitely see this movie. There are so many scenes where you feel for each and every characters of the film.

Surjya Sen would have called off the Chittagong uprising if he knew such a film would be made about it.

While all bollywood movies are long, I really noticed the length of this one. While it seems historically accurate, I don't know if the event was noteworthy enough for a movie. A group of villagers, some quite wealthy, train and take over a town for the night, not locating ammunition for their newly acquired weapons they have to retreat to the hills area, where they fight for and eventually lose a battle with the more well equipped and trained British Raj forces. Following this they have separate and run, though eventually they are all either captured or killed.

Good periodical drama, brings into limelight one of the forgotten chapters of the Indian Freedom struggle.
