This utterly discreet and unassuming film aims at something big: it tries to bring back the clean and simple story-telling of Sai Paranjape and Hrishikesh Mukherjee.
Not a bad movie, despite not really doing anything for me. The cast seemed to have fun but the comedy really is practically nonexistent. And the first hour of the film can be a chore to sit through since it does set up the scam that the family pulls off against Khurana. The movie means well, trying to tell a story of a father and son reconnecting and becoming closer after some difficult moments earlier in the film. The problem is, the second hour and the set-up to the scam is completely convoluted and doesn't really lead to any decent comedy either way. As mentioned, the cast is decent enough and I didn't really hate the movie. But the story is poorly written and the comedy isn't particularly effective. It has its moments, but they're few and far in between so it makes it hard to recommend this movie.
