Might just be a little too sober. At times, it's almost as unbelievable as the throw-everything-against-the-wall story that Oliver Stone tells in JFK.

Certainly a film shown during the anniversary of that sad time should make you feel something. This one doesn't.

Killing Kennedy deserves some credit for attempting to retell the JFK assassination in a slightly different way but it doesn't go far enough in getting at the underpinnings of Oswald's character and motivation.

There's nothing terribly wrong with Killing Kennedy. We just don't need the splashes of Hollywood in a story we already know way too well.

The even larger issue is familiarity. We already know too much and paradoxically too little about the JFK assassination. A TV movie needed to tell us something we don't know. No dice here.

The overall approach amounts to hair-styling and costume design in search of an actual movie.
