I thought this was a pretty damn good movie. As with many Korean movies they have some melodramatic moments near the end, but nothing that hindered that made the movie worse, at least in my opinion. The best part about the movie is the dynamic between the three leads and how the ministers react to this attraction the king has for Gong-Gil. It is an interesting story and they tackle homosexual themes in a very serious manner. They do so in a respectful manner. The acting, while good, from the guy who played the king, sometimes borders on self-parody. He was trying too hard to be childish, but at the same time be a ruthless tyrant. I didn't sense that he was fucked up because his mother was ordered to kill herself. He should have been more subtle, in my opinion at least. The rest of the cast was good and the costume design was pretty freaking tremendous. So overall, this is a really good movie.

The mock of a jester and the descent of a kingdom to insanity, The King And The Clown is an odd fusion of romance, drama, and comedy with style and extravagance. Ruthless.

I think this movie is way too overrated. And the storyline that is written over here explains 30% of it. I did liked the beginning but it gets boring afterward. None of the jokes made me laugh (it was too lame). But the acting was superb though. I thought Lee Jun Ki was a girl. Damn. Never seen a guy looked so girly without makeup.

Korean drama set in the 16th century, as two travelling minstrels run away from their brutish troop manager only to end up in the corrupt Royal Court of unstable King Yeonsan. But really its a love story triangle between a man and a woman and a king, except the woman's a man and the kings a few sandwiches short of a picnic, and there's no passionate declarations, and there's not even kissing. With brilliant performances from the three leads (man, woman and king). I loved it. . <img src="http://www.fanqueen.com/lee-jun-ki/the-king-and-the-clown/poster.jpg">
