Movie Info

In this off-beat Japanese comedy-melodrama, an insurance salesman attempts to make enough to support his wife and son. The story is set before Japan entered WW II and offers a fascinating glimpse at the daily life there. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

Critic Reviews for Koshiben gambare (Flunky, Work Hard!)

All Critics (1)

Flunky, Work Hard! is a film at a crossroads, its most resonant image that of a fly trapped under a dripping faucet and flailing around the waterlogged sink.

Audience Reviews for Koshiben gambare (Flunky, Work Hard!)

Mikio Naruse's first film that is still obtainable, "Flunky, Work Hard!" is the short film about a father and his son and makes for a great family drama! A great Japanese Silent that is both humorous and deep in context!
