Movie Info

La Luna is the timeless fable of a young boy who is coming of age in the most peculiar of circumstances. Tonight is the very first time his Papa and Grandpa are taking him to work. In an old wooden boat they row far out to sea, and with no land in sight, they stop and wait. A big surprise awaits the little boy as he discovers his family's most unusual line of work. Should he follow the example of his Papa, or his Grandpa? Will he be able to find his own way in the midst of their conflicting opinions and timeworn traditions? --(c) Disney pixar

I ask for nothing more than creativity. Even spellbinding visuals aren't necessary. For some odd reason this felt more like something straight out of Shigeru Miyamoto's mind than from Pixar. Didn't bother me much; it created a micro-world, and that's big enough already. 67/100

This is the Disney/Pixar entry in the Oscar nominated shorts this year. A young boy is taken to work with his father and grandfather. They don't agree on much but patiently show the boy how to wait for the moon to rise over their boat. An impossibly long ladder is pulled out of a box in the boat and the boy is sent up with an anchor. Turns out the moon glows because it is covered with little cute glowing stars and it is this family's job to clean the moon. It's just too adorable.
