Oct 7, 2014 The happiest film about World War II See more Dec 12, 2011 Well-paced and entertaining, La Vie de Chateau isn't boring for a moment. The plot is relatively clever and the funny bits are actually almost amusing by French standards. The last few minutes are rather strange, and without some of the more farcical elements, this could've been a very good film. As it is, it's still well worth watching. See more Mar 26, 2011 The comic mood of this film is classically French, and takes some getting used to for us non-Francophiles. But Catherine Deneuve, ca 1965, takes no getting used to.
