In this musical, Joan Blondell stars as the owner of a riverboat casino in cahoots with a corrupt political boss (John Wayne). In order to gain entry into the upper crust, she strikes a bargain with a socialite gambler (Ray Middleton)--she'll clear his considerable gambling debts if he'll marry her.
