Hard-hitting diatribe on survival and revenge.

Overdramatic and much like a silent movie at times; often symbolic. but mostly boring.

Wajda certainly knows what to do with a camera, and this film contains cinematography almost as fine as Kanal. But the main character is a smug twit, the acting is rather dreadful and the script is overwritten. I also gotta say these are the healthiest looking holocaust survivors I've ever seen. There could be a great movie here, as some interesting post-war themes are explored, but the overblown speeches and poor performances pretty much ruin it.

stunning. even more interesting since it doesn't actually show holocaust but presents the life after. and that's rare.

is there a life after the Holocaust? Wajda's vision of the immediate post-war times (based on t.Borowski's memoirs) and a great performance by Olbrychski

una pelicula que nos hace repensar continuamente lo que estamos viviendo y a la vez nos hace sentir voyeristas de nuestra propia realidad

Technically roughshod but finally trenchant.
