This Indiana Jones knockoff goes down smoothly enough, and Jolie isn't bad at all.

It's all a confection, but the plot is tight, Jolie is hot, and I'll probably see the next one, too.

It's not perfect (it's a sequel after all), but the latest Lara Croft film is smart, sexy and great summer fun.

Tomb Raider II may be a pleasure as banal as the archetypal evil scientist. Yet it's a pleasure nonetheless.

The preposterous plot line does give De Bont an excuse to send Jolie flying in a handful of heartstopping stunt sequences. But she's her own special effect, as protean, mercurial, and dangerous as any piece of wirework or CGI.

A vast improvement over its impenetrable 2001 predecessor.

The Cradle of Life ain't Shakespeare and it doesn't reinvent the action-adventure in any profound way. On the other hand, it's a sleek, well-produced popcorn picture.

Sure it's hardcore dumb but its so amusing plundering this tomb that you won't notice (or care) how well the makers raided your wallet.

Sure, the movie blows but Jolie is the new James Dean, mysterious and the definition of cool.

Bombastic it may be, but it's rarely boring, as was the first Tomb Raider. Keep your expectations in line with the source material and you may be pleasantly surprised.
